There are a couple of mobile credit card readers available that I know of. There are probably more, I just haven't looked for them. This is one I just received from Intuit. I haven't used it yet to see how well it works. I have used the reader and app from Square. It works amazingly well. It's been a seemless process each time I've used it.
Here's how it works: You plug the reader into your phone, open the app if it doesn't open automatically, type in a little info for the charge, swipe the card and your done. The money is then transferred into your checking account, minus a small fee for the credit card transaction. It also gives you the option of emailing a receipt from the app.
